Incense of the Bible - Balsam: Also called the "Oil of Jericho," and the "Balm of Gielead," balsam was of great importance to the ancients throughout the Holy Land. The Queen of Sheba was the first to introduce balsam into Judea, giving a root of the plant to King Solomon. As a sap from the Mastic tree, it was used to treat wounds, bruises, serpent bites, and stomach disorders. It was also burned as incense in purification ceremonies, and as a welcome to guests.
This incense burns with the fresh, clean scent of the balsam fir needle. Approximately 18-20 sticks.
